Daily Affirmations: August Edition!

Daily Affirmations: August Edition!

These affirmations are designed to listen to in the background, read aloud, or say in your mind. Affirmations can be helpful to relax, re-center yourself and remind yourself of the intention you have for the day, the month, or even the year.

This affirmation track contains the following affirmations:

  • As I move into this month, I let go of anything that is no longer serving me.
  • I will let go of the previous versions of myself that I no longer identify with.
  • As I move throughout each day, I will seek comfort in who I have become and the person I am.
  • This month, I will take time to rest, allowing my body and mind to recharge.
  • I give myself the permission to be more sensitive to my intuition and my inner voice.
  • I will listen to my body and meet its needs, through nutrition foods, regular movement and meditation.
  • I will honor my feelings when determining next steps and move at a pace that works well for me.
  • Where needed, I will shift my attention and energy, staying loyal to myself and my personal needs.
  • Each day, I will do my best to get into a state of flow by focusing on the task at hand.
  • This month, I will give myself credit for my evolution and progress.
  • I will continue to believe there will be successful outcomes on the things I am working on.
  • Before I go to bed today, I will remember my intentions from this practice and allow myself to be satisfied with how I showed up today.

Enneagram Personality Test

Enneagram Personality Test

Alright BlogFam, you asked for it, so I did it. Yes, after years of the Enneagram being popular, I finally took the test. The results were not overly surprising, and I’d love to know what you all score. The free test I took can be found here.

First, the name of this test is a bit odd and I don’t know how to properly pronounce it. This site talks about the history, apparently originally developed and named in 1915. The numbers of the Enneagram at at random, however there are types associated with the numbers:

  1. Instinctive
  2. Thinking
  3. Feeling

In some references to the test, it is suggested that one of the numbers on either side of the main number is the wing. So if you’ve seen people say they are 3w4 that is why. Similar to the MBTI, it provides information and can be a fun way to get to know someone better, as well as learn about yourself. And what fascinated me with this, is that my Enneagram score matched with my MBTI… super interesting! They say there isn’t science behind these, but the fact this was spot on was interesting to me.

The numbers in the Enneagram are:

  1. Moral Perfectionist
  2. Supportive Advisor
  3. Successful Achiever
  4. Romantic Individualist
  5. Investigative Thinker
  6. Loyal Guardian
  7. Entertaining Optimist
  8. Protective Challenger
  9. Peaceful Mediator

My results

Before I go into my results, I’d love to know your guesses haha!

I am a 5w4. Writing that felt strange, have to admit it. Now that I know this information, I’m sure to ask people more about theirs this coming week. What I also found out, as mentioned before, is that this aligns with my MBTI fairly well. The 5w4 correspond with INTP. To be honest, after a healthy dose of being around people after the 2020 isolation, I did find myself going toward the I side of the introverted scale again. So this aligns well.

Below are my results:

Now it’s your turn! If you haven’t already take a free online test and let me know your results. Also put in the comments down below if you agree with your results or not 🙂

Thanks all! Until next time.

Guided Meditation

Guided Meditation

Over the years, I’ve used hypnosis and guided meditation to help calm my mind. And also, to strengthen my imagination. In my teenage years, I’m thankful my father took me to a hypnotist. Although unconventional, especially at the time; he saw I was in need and knew that it would help. Not only did it help at the time; but it is something I took with me into my adulthood.

Our minds can be difficult to calm down. Especially if we have a ton going on, piling responsibilities, or feel stuck and want more. In these situations, which basically cover all of life, not everyone can simply turn their internal dialogue off. For me, guided meditations, and hypnosis help greatly. They aren’t the permanent solution, but can aid in getting us to a more relaxed state.

In a more relaxed state, we tend to see things more clearly and gain a bit of perspective. You may have already seen some of my affirmation tracks on my channel. These affirmations can also be a way to refocus your mind with new thoughts and stop the spiral of not so great thoughts.

Well, today I present you with my first ever recorded guided meditation. It is a story which will bring you through a walk in the forest. Picture yourself from the first person and follow along. This can also be used to fall asleep to for a more peaceful nights rest. Have a listen, and let me know what you think!
